chapter describes community resources provided by nonprofit
organizations that are (1) funded privately and locally, and (2)
situated locally (in or very near Hanover). It is organized
alphabetically by category.

Artventures
at the Hood Museum:
Saturday
morning guided interactive tours for children eight and over; themes
vary with changing exhibitions; free admission. 646-1469.
Billings
Farm and Museum:
working
farm environment in Woodstock shows farm animals and preserves 19th
century farming and farm life practices; many seasonal expositions and
hands-on activities for adults and children. (802) 457-2355.
Camps
and Clinics:
various
camps and school vacation mini-camps are offered through the Hanover
Parks and Recreation Department, 643-5315; the Carter Community Center,
448-3055; and the Montshire Museum, (802) 649-2200. A wide variety of
athletic clinics and camps for children are also available through the
Dartmouth Athletic Department. The following are all for boys and
