This chapter describes community resources provided by nonprofit organizations that are (1) funded privately and locally, and (2) situated locally (in or very near Hanover). It is organized alphabetically by category.

For Singles

Singles Net:
social group for non-smoking singles, mostly over 40. PO Box 479, Norwich.

Single Volunteers of the Upper Valley:
provides volunteers for programs and activities in the Upper Valley; monthly potlucks. Betty Ann Heistad, 448-3756.

Twin States Breakfast Club:
organizes low-cost activities where single adults can meet and have fun while making new friends. Bud Hill, 298-5801 or Holly Wellson, (802) 295-4135.

Theater

Friends of the Hopkins Center and Hood Museum:
supports the Hopkins Center and Hood Museum of Art's efforts to foster ways in which the visual and performing arts enrich our lives. 646-2006, hhfriends@valley.net

Hopkins Center for the Arts:
known as the "Hop," the largest entertainment complex in the North Country; annually presents over 600 live performances, films, lectures, and other cultural events; houses Spaulding Auditorium, Moore Theater, and Warner Bentley Theater. 646-2422 (box office, mailing list); hopkins.center@dartmouth.edu

North Country Community Theater:
mounts two to four amateur productions per year at the Lebanon Opera House for adults and children. Andrew Garthwaite, (802) 649-3606.

Northern Stage:

Nugget Theaters:

Opera North:

Parish Players:

Revels North:
